Unpaid pools

Sometimes, clients don’t pay on time. With Unpaid Pools, you can make sure those unpaid miners don’t keep working like nothing happened.

Unpaid Pools helps you manage miners that haven’t been paid for. When a client's miner is marked as unpaid, this feature automatically applies special pool settings to it. Once the miner is paid, it returns to the client’s original configuration.

The system keeps track of each miner's status and updates the pool settings automatically:

  • If the miner becomes paid: the original pool settings are restored.

  • If the miner becomes unpaid: the system applies the custom settings you set up under Automation > Unpaid Pools.

The system checks miners every 10 minutes to ensure correct settings and fix discrepancies.

How to change status of miner to unpaid/ paid - read here.

  1. Go to Settings → Automation in your account.

  2. Find Unpaid Pools.

  3. Flip the switch On to activate it.

FAQ

What are Unpaid Pools?

Unpaid Pools is a feature that lets you automatically apply specific pool settings to unpaid miner. It helps ensure those miners don’t keep operating as usual when a client hasn’t paid.

When do Unpaid Pools activate?

They activate only when a miner’s status is set to “Unpaid”. If the miner becomes “Paid,” the system switches back to the previous pool settings automatically.

How often does the system check pool settings?

The system checks miner status every 10 minutes and updates the pool settings if needed.

Do I need to set configurations for each algorithm?

Yes! You must add pool settings for every algorithm used on your miners. If new algorithms appear later, don’t forget to add unpaid settings for those too.

What if a device is unpaid, but the pools don’t update?

Go to the Logs tab and check the latest logs for that device. The system will show the exact reason why the update failed. Here are some common reasons:

  • Failed to connect to device.

  • Failed to connect to Agent.

  • The device's password is unknown.

  • The device's password is invalid.

  • No templates for unpaid pools.

Can I test this without affecting all devices?

Yes — you can mark one device as “Unpaid” and see how the settings apply. It’s a safe way to check your configuration before using it at scale.
